Joyce Chen is the Global Head of Production for Creative Experiences at Facebook, overseeing all production across Facebook Blue App, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp and the Facebook (parent) company. She also oversees the external D&I partnerships, production programs and tracking for Facebook’s consumer marketing org.
With 18 years of experience in commercial production, Chen most recently served as the Director of Integrated Production at Heat, which she joined when Deloitte Digital acquired the company. Before Heat, Chen led global integrated campaigns at agencies including McCann Worldgroup, Venables Bell & Partners and Modernista! for clients like Google, Microsoft, Audi, Xbox and Cadillac.
Outside of work, Chen co-directed a documentary short film called “Refugee” which was released in 2017. The doc tells the story if a West African refugee who fled to the US to escape conflict and had to leave her children behind. “Refugee” won Best Documentary Short 8 times during its festival season and was a 3 time qualifier for the 2017 Academy Awards.
