Over the past two decades, Monika has built her career in advertising in client management, working her way up from an Account Executive to the Client Services Director of Leo Burnett, before transitioning to running the entire business as CEO of Grey Indonesia, and building an enterprise from the ground up as a founding partner of Isobar Indonesia.
With her expertise and invaluable experience in growing businesses in the Indonesian market, Monika expanded her repertoire to tech startups when she led Uber Indonesia as the Country President. Finding herself greatly enjoying the dynamic, data driven, digital nature of the tech industry, she joined Lazada in 2018.
As Lazada Indonesia's Chief Marketing Officer, Monika now leads a marketing team full of young, energetic talent, where she combines her experience of offline and online mass market advertising with the bold performance marketing that forms the core of Lazada. Monika leads, among other things, user growth, partnerships, and monetization to support Lazada Indonesia's business strategy.
While Monika is passionate about building high performing teams, she is also a firm believer in maintaining work-life balance, juggling the demands of an ever online 24/7 business, a family of four daughters, and a truly prolific Lego collection.
Born in Jakarta from parents with mixed Manadonese, Javanese and Cirebonese blood, Monika graduated from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business with a degree in Business Administration in Marketing and Finance.
