Steve Bignell is the CEO of PMX UK (Publicis Media Exchange), and is responsible for harnessing the power of Publicis Media’s £1bn annual spend. He leads trading on behalf of our global media agency brands’ (Spark, Zenith, Starcom, Digitas) driving the best prices and access from media owners for our clients. He is passionate about driving the best opportunities through innovation for clients, applying the smartest use of data and technology.
Steve has 25+ years media experience working on both the media agency and media owner side of the industry, and has worked with clients such as Nestle, Muller, Sky, Universal Music, VW. He is well versed in both traditional and digital media strategy and negotiation.
Steve joined ITV (the largest Commercial Broadcaster in the UK) in March 2012 from MediaCom (part of GroupM) where he held roles as both Investment Director and Chief Operating Officer. At ITV, Steve was the Director of Advanced Advertising. He helped develop and implement ITV’s data and advertising technology strategy driving ITV’s addressable programmatic proposition (Planet V). Since returning to Publicis (Steve started his career working at Zenith), Steve has already been recognised by Campaign as 3rd best Media Buyer in the UK in 2020.
Steve has a degree in Economics from Newcastle University, and in his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog, Buddy, and the new puppy, Hector.
